On Saturday, the children from Sanfort visited STEM Land. 1st to 5th-grade children came with excitement to explore and learn new things.

The session started with learning place value and addition using Dienes cubes. The children also used Polypad, a visual math tool, to explore number tiles and cubes. These activities helped them understand numbers better and made learning maths fun and interesting.

After the learning session, the children played different STEM games. They enjoyed solving puzzles, building with blocks, and playing thinking games. The games helped them learn teamwork, focus, and problem-solving in a joyful way.

The STEM Land team supported the children throughout the activities. They guided them, encouraged them to think for themselves, and helped them learn through exploration and play.

In the end, the children shared that they enjoyed learning through activities instead of only writing or reading. They said they liked using materials and STEM games because they could see, touch, and do things by themselves.

It was a happy and memorable day for everyone. The children went back with smiles, new learnings, and curiosity to explore more about STEM Land.

Reflections

Poonguzhali

My name is Poonguzhali. I stand for courage for myself and others. I felt very happy to see the children learning with interest and joy. I noticed that when children learn by doing with learning materials, they understand concepts better and enjoy the process more.

I also learned the importance of giving children time and space to think and discover answers on their own. It was a beautiful and meaningful experience for me to be part of their learning journey.

Vaishnavi

My name is Vaishnavi. K,  I stand for kindness, unity, and respect for myself and others. Sanvi School kids visited our STEMland, and it was my first time supporting the Sanvi kids. It was an interesting and joyful experience to see them engage so well. Their curiosity and excitement in learning math through visualization inspired me to teach them even more. They enjoyed using Dienes blocks in Polypad to learn addition, and their enthusiasm made me realize that even simple things can be meaningful for young learners. Spending time with these curious minds boosted my own interest and motivation to keep learning.
