We visited Matrimandir on 25/11/2025. Planning for the visit began a week earlier by collecting a list of interested team members. Around 30 of us went, accompanied by Sanjeev anna. We reached the Matrimandir gate by 7:45 a.m., greeted by fresh air and a cool breeze. Those who arrived early waited quietly until the rest of the group joined. Once everyone had gathered, we handed over our belongings at the counter and began walking calmly towards the Matrimandir. We had the opportunity to sit in the chamber and meditate for about 20 minutes. Afterward, we visited the lotus pond beneath and spent some time meditating there as well. We then walked through and explored all the petals. The petals represent the 12 qualities of the Mother and most of them were in English and three were in French which we understood later. It was a wonderful experience for all of us, and we spent about an hour in that serene space. Below are some of our reflections from the visit.

Sanjeev Anna:

It was very thoughtful of the MM team to have let us additionally meditate at the lotus pond together and to see all the petals (qualities of the mother). I realized reflected that as an Aurovilian I have not had an opportunity to see all the petals at once. It reminded me of all the qualities that I should embody before meditating at the chamber.

Saranya:

My Name is Saranya I deeply care about perseverance and equality for myself and others. It has been a long time since we visited the Matri Mandir. Earlier, we were a small team, but now our team has grown and new members have joined our family. It felt really nice to go together as a larger group. I experienced a deep sense of peace within myself. The whole day started with a very positive vibe, and the visit gave me a feeling of calmness and connection.

Jayabharathy:

My name is Jayabharathy. I stand for care and courage for myself and for others. The Inner Chamber of the Matrimandir has always been very close to my heart. From my school days, whenever I had the chance to visit, I felt it was a place where I could sit for the whole day, immersed in peace and light. When I began meditating, I could observe my sensations without any external disturbances because the environment there is absolutely silent. This was the first time I had the opportunity to visit all the petals. I sincerely thank Sanjeev Anna for creating this opportunity for us. Visiting the Golden Globe after a long time was truly a heart-touching experience for me.

Poovizhi:

It was wonderful to meditate inside the Matrimandir with most of our team members. It gave us a deep sense of unity and happiness. We also had the opportunity to visit all the petals, and it was my first time seeing them all in one visit. Each petal had its own atmosphere, and walking through them felt peaceful and inspiring. The experience helped us reconnect with ourselves and with each other, creating a beautiful sense of togetherness. Overall, it was a memorable and uplifting day for our team.

Vaishnavi:

My name is Vaishnavi.K. I stand for kindness, unity, and respect for myself and others. Today I visited Matrimandir with my office mates. I have visited it many times before, but going with the people I work with and meditating in a different place felt truly special. We meditate every day in our office, but experiencing it in a new environment brought a refreshing energy. Travelling to different places always feels good it feeds the eyes, refreshes the mind, and fills the heart with new impressions and thoughts. Being surrounded by beautiful sights, fresh flowers, and the calmness of nature made the visit even more meaningful. Connecting with a natural heart, mind, and soul made the beginning of the day feel pure, peaceful, and full of freshness. I feel truly grateful to Sanjeev anna for organizing this and giving us the chance to start our day with such positivity.

Soundhariya:

My name is Soundhariya. I stand for Courage for myself and others. When I went inside the Matrimandir for meditation, I felt very calm and peaceful. The silence helped my mind become quiet. As I sat there, I felt light and relaxed, like all my thoughts were slowly going away. The meditation gave me a fresh feeling and made me feel strong and clear inside.

Sandhiya BalaAnand:

My name is Sandhiya Bala Anand, and I stand for courage, care, and happiness for myself and others. Every time I visit the Matrimandir, I feel a deep sense of peace and inner happiness. There is always something special and exciting about being there. This time, I was not feeling well—I had a cold and a cough. Still, I chose to go and meditate inside the inner chamber, with full intention, heart, and presence. During my meditation, I noticed something meaningful: I did not cough even once while I was inside the chamber. I was fully present and silent in the experience. Meditating in the inner chamber helped me feel completely calm and centered.

Ajay I:

My name is Ajay. I stand for self-awareness for myself and others. While visiting the Matrimandir with our team, I noticed that the experience felt different than usual. During the meditation, the silence in the hall and the collective energy of our team felt awesome.

Durai:

Sivaguru:

My name is Sivaguru and I stand for courage, full potential and equanimity for myself and for everyone. Sitting with the team in that space made everyone feel strangely equal and grounded. The stillness forced me to confront my own mind. Walking out, there was a clarity and calm that felt earned, not gifted. I also felt that I have something to focus on instead of being in distraction

SriBhavani:

My Name is SriBhavani, I stand for Love and Equality for myself and others. After a long gap, it was great time with team to meditate inside the Matrimandir Chamber. This meditation helped me to feel lite and relaxed with calm mind. This time got an opportunity to see all the 12 value petals and learned the other names of the 12 qualities offered by The Mother.

Sandhiya:

My name is Sandhiya. I stand for progress through happiness and love—for myself and for others. It was a beautiful experience to meditate together as a team in MM. We do meditate here, but that space felt even nicer as it was calmer.

Premkumar:

My name is Premkumar. I stand for self confidence and equality for my self and others. I visited the Matrimandir Inner Chamber in Auroville with my office colleagues. I sat for meditation without any noise, it made me focus on my breath and body sensations. I feel very calm and peaceful. I also saw the 12 qualities of the mother, around the lotus pond. They reminded me to bring good qualities like peace, gratitude, and courage into my life. This visit helped me feel connected to my inner self. I am happy and grateful for this experience.

Pravin:

My Name is Pravin. I Stand for Equality and Compassion of myself and others. This was my second visit to the Matrimandir, and I went with a excitement to see the place again after a long time. Going together as a team made the experience even more meaningful. As we entered the space, I could immediately feel a sense of calmness settling within me. The silence that surrounded us, created the perfect environment for Meditating. It felt like shared moment of quiet  and so special. Sitting near the lotus pond afterward was so good and I was once again amazed by the architecture of the Matrimandir, especially how thoughtfully it has been constructed. Visiting the petals around the globe gave me new insight this time. I learned that each petal represents a specific quality, which showed intention behind the structure. Overall, the visit was peaceful, help us reconnect with.

Gunavathi:

The day began with silent concentration, helping me find clarity and connect with my deeper self in Matrimandir. Meditation gently brought me back to myself, quieting my thoughts and allowing me to see life with fresh clarity. The morning was filled with stillness as I breathed slowly, feeling nature wake around me in the soft light, the birds, the cool air. In these moments, a calmness settled within, reminding me to move through the day with presence and gratitude.

Rajesh:

I have Vipassana meditation and experienced a gentle sense of calmness. I could feel subtle sensations throughout my body. When I meditated at Matirmandir, the sensations became even more distinct. There was a kind of vibration flowing through my body, almost like a soft energy moving everywhere. Meditating in that place created a feeling of inner joy that I had never experienced before. Matirmandir was the most peaceful and uplifting place I have ever meditated in. The atmosphere there felt pure, quiet, and deeply supportive of mindfulness. Every breath felt lighter, and every moment felt more meaningful. The surroundings themselves seemed to enhance the practice, helping me go deeper into awareness and stillness. It truly became the best meditation experience of my life.
