C3STREAM Land and the Auroville Institute of Applied Technology College hosted the 41st International Cloudflight Coding Contest.

The Cloudflight Coding Contest (CCC) is a level-based problem-solving with a code challenge. The competition takes place once a year, with 5,000 participants at 40+ locations primarily in Europe. With tracks for “School”, “Classic”, and “AI”, it offers everyone—from pupils to senior developers—a unique opportunity to challenge themselves. The goal is to complete increasingly difficult levels by creating software solutions as fast as possible. Participants compete for a rank in the Hall of Fame, navigating beginner-friendly initial levels up to a final level that very few people globally ever see.

In fall 2024, the Austrian AIAT Volunteer and Shifu Member Andreas Patuzzi wanted to allow indian students to join the global CCC for the first time. He coordinated with the international organizers to establish us as the first—and currently only—official partner location in India. Within two weeks, he organized the 40th CCC at STEM Land, creating custom prizes and official certificates. Second and third-year B.Voc students participated alongside C3STREAM Land members. Andreas even managed to transport official CCC medals, T-shirts, and goodies from Austria.

In April 2025, we created our own coding contest at the Auroville Institute of Applied Technology, based on a past CCC Challenge. This event also focused on encouraging local 12th-grade students to code. The gamified CCC challenges combine quick logical thinking and problem-solving with computer science and algorithms in a fun way. We created a unique learning environment by supporting each team of pupils with a professional mentor from C3STREAM Land. The goal was not just to tell them what to do, but to guide their thinking process in breaking down and solving problems.

This fall, we hosted the 41st official CCC at AIAT, reaching a milestone of over 100 participants. We again hosted both the school and classic competitions with official medals, certificates, trophies, T-shirts, and other goodies. The school track attracted numerous local 9th – 12th standard students, mentored by AIAT third-year B.Voc students.

In the Classic competition, college students participated alongside C3STREAM Land professionals and teachers. Besides AIAT and C3STREAM Land, we also had participants from Vasavi International School, Aikiyam School, New Era Senior Secondary School, Udavi School, Pondicherry University, and Manakkula Vinayagar Engineering College. Leading by example, C3STREAM Land Founder and AIAT College Principal, Sanjeev Ranganathan, won the competition.

We look forward to hosting the Cloudflight Coding Contest in future years. We see it as a great opportunity to make problem-solving with code challenges fun, exciting, and accessible. We are truly grateful to everyone who made this possible, with a special mention to the AIAT volunteers Andreas, Simon, and Valentin, the international CCC Organization Team, AIAT Principal Sanjeev Ranganathan, AIAT HOD of Computer Science Amarnath Thangaraj, and the dedicated volunteers and staff from AIAT and C3STREAM Land.

Andreas Patuzzi, Ex-AIAT Volunteer, Organizer
My name is Andreas, and I stand for curiosity, sincerity, and full potential. When I started volunteering in India, I asked myself, “Wouldn’t it be nice to allow Indian students to join the global CCC?”. I am really grateful for all the people who helped and allowed me to make this event happen. Especially this year, I could see that the new volunteers, and some AIAT and C3STREAM Land members, are motivated to continue this event, even when I can’t attend it in person.
It is amazing to see how a crazy idea turned into such a powerful community event. This is a beautiful demonstration of how people around the world—across different backgrounds, ages, and cultures—can come together to compete in a fun, problem-solving code challenge.
Simon Wimmer, AIAT Volunteer
It was inspiring to see how students who began coding only three months ago tackled complex challenges for the first time with remarkable commitment and enthusiasm. They not only took part in this globally recognized coding contest but truly embraced and mastered it. Beyond the growth of their programming skills, we also witnessed a tremendous increase in their confidence, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities — qualities that reflect the spirit of continuous learning at AIAT.

Angeline Praisy, AIAT Student and CCC School Winner
Participating in the coding contest this time was truly special for me. This is my third time being part of it, and looking back, I still remember how I used to struggle even with Level 1. But this year felt different. I was able to deep-dive into the concepts with much more confidence and clarity.
What made the experience even more meaningful was the opportunity to mentor students at different levels. Each of them had their own way of understanding logic, so I focused on breaking down the problems step by step and helping them approach challenges calmly. I didn’t just want them to solve the questions, I wanted them to actually understand the concept behind each solution.
Seeing them slowly gain confidence, write cleaner logic, and discuss ideas openly was honestly the most rewarding part. The entire session turned out to be efficient, engaging, and a great learning experience for all of us. Guiding them helped me improve too, in communication, patience, and problem-solving.
Overall, this year’s contest wasn’t just about participating again; it was about growth, contribution, and seeing how far I’ve come.
My name is Durai. I participated in the AIAT Coding Contest as a mentor, supporting participants during a level-based coding challenge. It was a great experience to guide students, share insights, and encourage problem-solving and teamwork. The event created a positive learning environment with active interaction among students and mentors. I enjoyed connecting with like-minded individuals and observing the enthusiasm for coding. Overall, it was a rewarding and enriching mentoring experience.
My name is Ajay. I stand for self awareness for myself and others. During the coding contest I supported the first year bvoc student on how to use chatgpt and how to run the python code. This event also helps me to look at myself where I need to improve.
My name is Preethi. I stand for courage and kindness for myself and others. Participating in the CCC tournament helped me understand the importance of preparation, focus, and teamwork. I learned how to stay calm under pressure and think clearly while solving problems. It motivated me to keep practicing and improving my skills. More than focusing on winning the tournament, I truly enjoyed the process. I had fun learning new things, exploring different ways of thinking, and gaining valuable experience. This tournament reminded me that growth, joy, and learning matter more than results, and that itself is a real achievement.

My Name is Sri Bhavani. I stand for Love and Equality for myself and others. I am able to refresh my coding knowledge in python scripting. This coding contest helped me to think differently to solve the tasks. I learned that coding optimization is important when taking a simple task to the next level.
My name is Saranya. I deeply care about equality and perseverance for myself and others. I worked on the coding contest tasks during a morning meeting. I was combined with the programming team, which was a new and useful experience for me. During the contest, I learned how important it is to clearly understand and decode the problem statement before starting to code. I also learned how to think step by step and break a problem into smaller parts. By working with the team, I understood how to use the available syntax properly instead of memorizing everything. I learned that discussion and teamwork help in finding better and faster solutions. Overall, this session helped me improve my logical thinking and gave me confidence to explore coding more in the future. Thank you
My name is Gunavathi. I stands for happiness for myself and others. By participating in the CCC contest, I was able to evaluate my progress and assess my Python skills. The experience provided valuable insights into my strengths and weaknesses, allowing me to pinpoint areas for improvement.
