As students from AIAT staying in the living space, we recently began attending the Shifu presentations. Before the sessions began, we spent time understanding why these weekly presentations are conducted, and that itself gave us a meaningful start to this journey.
We learned that presentations are not just about speaking in front of others they are a powerful way to grow. They help us improve our communication skills by encouraging us to organize our thoughts and express ideas clearly. They also help in building self-confidence, especially for those of us who feel nervous speaking in front of a group. What makes this space truly special is that it is built on respect, kindness, and support. There is no fear of being judged or made fun of, which allows everyone to participate freely.
With this understanding, we started attending the Shifu presentations with a sense of joy and wonder. Each presentation shared by the Shifu members has been enriching. Some sessions introduced us to new knowledge, while others helped us recall and strengthen what we had already learned. This way of learning feels alive, engaging, and deeply meaningful.
Even though we missed some of the previous sessions, we feel grateful to be part of this experience now. Being here, learning together, and growing in such a supportive environment means a lot to us.
We are eagerly looking forward to the upcoming sessions and are thankful for this opportunity to learn, share, and grow as a community.
Reflections from the team:
Navanith
My name is Navanith. S , I stand for care and happiness. As a B.Voc student, attending the Shifu presentations was a new experience for me.At first, I felt nervous to speak.By listening to others, I learned new ideas and different ways of thinking.I also realized that feedback helps me improve and build confidence. Now, I feel motivated to share my own learning and grow in this space.
Abinaya
My name is Abinaya.K , I stand for kindness and Happiness for myself and others. From this Shifu presentation , I understood that learning is not just about studying and keeping it to myself. When I share what I learned, I understand it more clearly.Sometimes I feel nervous before presenting, but after presenting, I feel more confident. I also realized that it is okay to make mistakes, because that is how I learn. When I listen to others, I get new ideas and different ways of thinking. Everyone explains things in their own way, and that helps me understand better. After B. Voc students joined, I felt that our learning space became more active. They bring new questions and new energy. It also reminded me how I was when I started, and how much I have improved now. I learned that learning is not only about knowledge, but also about communication, confidence, and helping each other grow. I feel grateful to be part of this space where we can learn freely, share openly, and grow together.
Pravin
My name is A. Pravin. I stand for equality and compassion, both for myself and for others. At Shifu, we have a habit of presenting our learning to our peers every Saturday. It is a space where we come together to share what we have learned throughout the week. We prepare presentations, usually in the form of PowerPoint slides, in a way that people from different domains can understand the content. During these sessions, we ask questions, clarify doubts, and assign tasks to each other. We also come prepared with the tasks given in the previous session. Recently, B.Voc students started attending our presentations, which made things even more interesting. We realized that we needed to put in extra effort to ensure that they could clearly understand our content. Initially, they were very curious and eager to learn from us. Seeing their interest motivated me to spend additional time preparing my presentations more thoughtfully. My approach is to explain my l learning step by step every week. For example, I demonstrate the tools I use in my work, the books I read, the things I repair, and the math techniques or shortcuts I learn. I always move forward with the intention that the peers should gain something valuable from my presentation, rather than hearing the same information they already know. My aim is to help them learn new and unfamiliar things that they might not be able to learn on their own or outside. I want to ensure their progress. More importantly, I hope to inspire them to keep learning and growing.
Vaishnavi
My name is Vaishnavi. K, I stand for Kindness and Respect for myself and for others. While presenting and listening to my fellow mates, I share and gain knowledge. This way of learning helps me learn many things in a better way. After the presentation, the feedback session helps me improve even more. I am grateful this opportunity.
Sandhiya.S
My name is Sandhiya. I stand for progress, as happiness, and love for myself and others. I have participated in some of the learning sessions, and I find them very useful and enriching.People from diverse teams come together in this shared learning space where everyone is a learner. It creates a sense of oneness and openness. This brings exposure to the work of other teams and also provides space for new learning, such as math concepts, tools, basic electronics, and basic science. This is not just one-way sharing—people ask questions, making it interactive. I have noticed that it is fun, and almost everyone actively participates in this learning space.

I find this session very helpful because it motivates me to prepare different topics and learn new thing so I can share it with everyone and I could also share the leaning related to my work. This presentation not only help me to learn new topics but also improve myself like becoming more confident and relate or engaging the audience during the presentation.
