Stewardship for new emergence (2 days workshop)

This is my experience From that workshop, I have learned few new tools. These tools was very useful and I practicing day-to-day life. These tools were useful and it’s used to think always from my stand. The tools I practiced from that workshop….1. Stand and fear 2. Integrity  3. Background conversation and deep listening 4. Whole(complete) 5.conscious full spectrum 6.Distinguishing discernment from Judgement 7. Speaking powerfully (3min) 8.Fact and story 9. Complaints which are commitment for action and conversation for commitments behind action etc..

when i used these tools in my life it’s made me to think differently and it’s made me to handle different kind situation(decision making). During the workshop I able to notice who am i and what do i really care about?. I am able to notice few things about me 1. If I am complaining about some issues why i am complaining because i really care about that issues and I want to change that issue then I am creating an opportunity for everyone to take responsibility 2. I am able to notice that whatever the difficult situation comes i have a choice 3. I have hesitation to say ‘no’ because will they other think bad about me like that i had a background conversation after using this tool it made to think positively, now I really don’t have hesitation to say ‘no’ 4. I am able to distinguish between judgement ans discernment 5. I had committed something I unable to finish it with the time frame I just accepted it and There I used my integrity lens. End of the workshop I felt complete and I felt very happy that I got an opportunity to attend this workshop.

Grit

~Saranya & Ranjith

Angela Lee Duckworth argues that the key to success is grit—a characteristic she defines as “passion and perseverance for very long-term goals.”

There are lots of brilliant people, but it’s the ones who stay true to themselves and follow through that make it. The key to success is setting a goal and pacing yourself (for a marathon rather than a sprint). It’s staying true to that goal even when life gets messy and even when it’s inconvenient that makes the difference.

These uncomfortable, challenging situations are the ones that force us to grow the most. Grit is used to find out our weakness and it make us to work on it.

One possible way to grow grit in children and ourselves is having a ‘growth mindset’ i.e. understanding ourselves and the brain that our abilities are not fixed in stone and can constantly change if we persevere.

Children Kingdom

~saranya

Friday (27/04/2018 )was the last sleep over at Isai Ambalam school. Few children’s were in the youth center I don’t know, What they were doing in the youth center. They were took by josh one who is volunteering at Isai Ambalam school and udavi school. I heard about like some sports thing is happening. So I preferred  to go youth center because I want to know what’s happening there exactly. I went there it was like wow!!!!!

Children’s were playing big seesaw, bull ride, tree house, one was like roller coaster and  reverse bicycle etc..  I wonder about the children because their everything is  big but the children does’t have the fear. I can see from the children face. They were saying it was fun and very happy because they were experiencing the joy of youth center. I observed it after that I asked myself that do you want to see or do you want to experience it. And I decided to experience it because we should not accept anything by other’s saying. Because their experience is different our experience is different. When I experienced it, I really felt happy and the experience was very different and fun.  This is the one valuable thing I learned about myself. If I could have miss that opportunity I may missed to learn about myself. So from that I understood one thing about me is “I don’t accept what other’s  saying I will experience it .

Sky Map

~saranya

I learned about constellation and sky map:

Constellation:

Constellation means group of stars or collection of stars. Yesterday I learned about different type of constellations. Totally 88 constellations are there but in our country they found and named only for 12. Through my experience it was very interesting and I am able to connect the star according to the constellation palan. And I learned about Arunthathi star, usually in our Indian culture  marriage they used to see Arunthathi star after that only they will get marry. After few minutes he introduced sky map. Because we could’t see stars properly.

Sky Map:

Sky map is an application which is used to see stars in the sky. I have experienced with the sky map. I am able see  constellation through the sky map. It was showing all the stars. It was fun and interesting. Here I have attached some snapshot about sky map.

These pictures will show about some of the stars and constellations. Use this application and this will help our children to know about sky and stars etc..

Vipassana Experience

~Saranya

Vipassana Technique was so good for me. It is good to practice for me everyday in life. When I went for Vipaasana I found the first three days difficult after that I realized and understood the universal truth of Dhamma. I learned to live in present moment. This made me to feel better and brighter. I noticed my monkey mind is always jumping thinking about my past and future, but not knowing how to live in present. I am practicing Vipassana everyday it helps me be concentrated, present and peaceful.

They have some ground rules, that is we should not talk to anyone, touch anyone, etc and maintain this noble silence for 9 days. These ground rules support the following the three principal ideas in Vipassana technique – Sila, Samadhi and Panya. Poovizhi has already described these and the theory in her blog and you can read this if you want to learn more.

I enjoyed the real peace and harmony. I understood through my own experience the meaning of Dhamma, it means universal flow of nature and of impermanence. Whatever sensation I feel in my body I was able to accept it and not react to it with either craving or aversion. That helped me train the habit pattern of my unconscious mind and come out of my misery. First day to 10th day I followed the rules and regulation and it helped immensely. In the final day I shared my peace and harmony to others with Metta. Whoever is reading my blog please give a trial for 10 days Vipassana course that makes you feel better and brighter and I am sure you will also come out of all your miseries.

Steps for perfection

Saranya

Everyone wants to be a perfection on their work. We worked through material provided by Aparajita Foundation (that we plan to use with children) and arrived at the following steps that I found useful:

  1. Clarity of what we are doing.
  2. Collect resource materials, organize and execute.
  3. Keen observation and attention to details.
  4. Be conscious.
  5. Time frame.
  6. Check for completion and correction whatever and whenever necessary.
  7. Clean up.
  8. Trust my work but correct if necessary.

One of the volunteers Sahana put the workshop together with the other teachers at Isai Ambalam School.

Introduction to Analog Layout

saranya

There are many things mater in analog passes for success (I.e noise, bandwidth, amplitude and frequency). I learnt few difference between analog layout and digital layout. Compare to digital layout it occupies less space and looks neat. We started doing step by step orthogonality, fourier series, exponential & expansion as sequence, laplace transform. First we did theoretical part that is Rc (Resistor and Capacitor) circuit with the input of sine wave and unit step function. By using exponential and laplace transform we found the output of unit step and sine wave in RC circuit. Now I have started calculating sheet resistance of each component (poly,metal,contact,etc..) that we will use it in magic tool.

Linear Equation with story

saranya

We have started with the story of linear equation. Linear equation is nothing but a straight line and choice. For an example we have taken x+y=10. The story of the linear equation is, I and my brother likes chocolates if I get more chocolate obviously he is going to get less chocolate that is the story of the linear equation. After that we have entered into the problem. We started drawing the line for that equation.First I have drawn wrongly for that equation x+y=10. What I have Thought is when the x increases y also get increase equally so the point is (10,10) that is why I have drawn like that.  After that I have understood the function of linear equation. In that linear equation it will get increases by 10 on both the axis.

When I learned how to draw a linear equation. I have made my own question that is x+y=20. Then I have checked my equation using geogebra.

Sinthanai Sangamam with around 600 teachers(Azim Premji Foundation)

Saranya

Sinthanai Sangamam is happened on 21/02/2018. It is a new kind of experience with around 600 teachers from different places. I have presented a paper about STEM land. The great thing is I got an opportunity to share about, my journey with the children in STEM land. The wonderful thing is that I am in STEM land. Why I came to STEM land is, I want to learn more about electronics that is why I came to STEM. I have learned about electronics what I have learnt that came as a few product that is inverter, display my name using 7-segment display, mobile charger, solar powered charger etc..Then I learned some of the programming from students that is scratch and geo gebra these program will be used in mathematics. These things I have explained in very shortly. In Sinthanai Sangamam everyone shared their experience with the children. How they interact with the children, what method they are following in their school, what kind of projects their students done and how we can connect to science and maths in our real life. The one main thing what I learnt is there should not a gap between children and teacher.

VLSI Layout

In VLSI layout course I learned to design a gates using NAND. Then I have checked the NAND gate truth table with the help of bread board, battery and multimeter. I learned to use magic tool, how to extract and how to simulate the layout.

I learned the cross section of CMOS and what colour coding we have to use for the each components.

Geogebra, EBD & Goanimate

– Saranya

I learned to use Geogebra and have used it to solve a linear equation. This worked for me and it was new to me. It is increasing my interest in mathematics. Now I am eager to solve many equations. Whatever we enter an equation the tool puts the waveform for it. For example, I have taken 3x+2y=0 is a linear equation. From that diagram we can easily identify that is linear equation. This was surprising for me.

I worked on EDB (Education by Design) with students at Isai Ambalam school. The pond which they have built before was cracked by roots of old trees .So because of that students want to reinforce the pond. Now they are in process of adding iron rod and concrete item so that the pond won’t get break again. It was wonderful experience with them.Is very good to see like that students they were full of energy.

I also made a small animated video with Goanimate.com it was great idea. It gave an idea of how I can convey something that feels more interactive. It was fun and awesome because whatever we want convey to the students we can convey by making an animation video. It was my first experience with goanimate.I made a video about multiplication story.

Here are some snapshots in case you cannot see the flash content above.

(I.e) there are 3 children, if I gave 4 bananas to each of them how many bananas did I give in all? The answer also I have shown. The answer is 12(add there number of bananas each have and we will get the answer easily).
